چکیده
Objective: To evaluate of the modified severity of obstetrical illness scoring system for predicting the outcome of critically ill obstetric patients. Methods: A total of 165 critically ill obstetric patients were enrolled. The modified severity of obstetrical illness score and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE II) were used to evaluate the severity of obstetrical illness. Deaths and organ dysfunctions were recorded. Results: Severity of obstetrical illness scores of dead patients was significantly higher than survival patients and the higher scores indicated the higher death rate. Conclusion: The modified severity of obstetrical illness scoring system was efficient on the evaluation of the severity of obstetrical illness and predicting the outcome of critically ill obstetric patients.

A Comparative study of APACHE II and SOFA Scoring Systems in Critically ill Patients with Sepsis
There are several well recognized scoring systems for evaluation and prognostication of critically ill patients. While the APACHE II (Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II) scoring system uses a point score based on physiologic parameters, age and previous health status, the SOFA (Sequential Organ Failure Assessment) scoring system takes into account the organ failure in critically ...

Abstract Background: In this study we aimed to examine the discrimination and calibration of a severity characterization of trauma (ASCOT) in our setting to determine whether its usage is appropriate to predict outcome of our trauma patients. Methods: This study was conducted in three hospitals. All patients admitted in studied hospitals were divided randomly into two equal subgroup...

متن کاملDescription of the Clinical Course and Severity Score Progression in Critically Ill Children with Acute Bronchiolitis on High-Flow Nasal Cannula Support
Background and Objective: Bronchiolitis is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in children. High-flow nasal cannulas (HFNCs) are an alternative for managing moderate to severe cases. Our aim was to describe the outcomes in critically ill children with bronchiolitis who receive HFNC support. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of critically ill children wh...
